Narration of Muhammed ibn Ali ibn Aba Jumhar al-Ahsa’i- The Faqih and the Orator,

The Faqih and orator, Muhammed ibn Ali ibn Aba Jumhar al-Ahsa’i, has said the following in his debate with the virtuous al-Harawi which took place in 878 A.H. and which is quite famous among the followers of the sect:
He (`Omer) wanted to burn the house of Fatima (A.S.) when Ali (A.S.) and some of Bani Hashim refused to swear the oath of allegiance to him. He squeezed her with the door till she miscarried her fetus. Qunfath hit her with his sword because he was ordered by him till she died while the pain of whips and their marks were still on her side, in addition to other such abominable acts. He said: “This is what you narrate through your own venues and it cannot be used as a proof against others.” I said, “As regarding her inheritance..., etc. As regarding the incident of the burning, and the whipping, and the miscarriage, some of it is narrated by you (Sunnis) as the `intention to burn.’ It is narrated by al-Tabari, al-Waqidi and Ibn Qutaybah.”[1]

Narration of Shaikh Zayn ad-Din al-Bayadi- Allama and Faqih and the alert Orator,

The `allama and Faqih and the alert orator, Shaikh Zayn ad-Din al-Bayadi, has said,

“Among them is narrated by al-Balathiri. It is well known by the Shi`as that he (`Omer) squeezed Fatima (A.S.) behind the door till she miscarried Muhassan although everybody knew what her father (A.S.) had said, that is, `Fatima is part of me; whoever hurts her hurts me.’”[1]

They have said that `a’isha was not the daughter of Muhammed (A.S.). When her camel was hamstrung, the Muslims’ zeal to safeguard her was prompted out of respect for her husband (A.S.), so heads and hands flew and flung around her. But what happened to Fatima (A.S.) of the greatest abomination is much greater than a hamstrung camel. So, why did the Muslims not demonstrate the same zeal for her?”[2]

He also said, “He (Abu Bakr) and `Omer sought to burn the house of the Commander of the Faithful (A.S.) when he and a group of others refused to swear the oath of allegiance to him. Al-Waqidi has mentioned this incident and so has al-Tabari in his Tarikh as well as Ibn `Abd Rabbih.”[3]

Narration of Shaikh al-Miqdad al-Sayyari, (d. 826 A.H.) - Orator-Faqih and Researcher

The orator-Faqih and researcher, Shaikh al-Miqdad al-Sayyari, has said,

“When Ali (A.S.) and a group of others refused to swear the oath of allegiance (to Abu Bakr), and when they sought shelter at the house of Fatima (A.S.), rejecting such fealty, he (Abu Bakr) sent her (A.S.) `Omer who hit her on her stomach, causing her to miscarry a son named Muhassan. He also lit a fire in order to burn their house although Fatima (A.S.) and a group of Bani Hashim were all inside it.

They took Ali (A.S.) out by force, handcuffing him with his own sword’s suspenders. Nobody should say that only the Shi`as narrate this incident, for someone may say so only to scandalize them. We say that this incident has been narrated by way of the opponents. It is narrated by al-Balathiri and Ibn `Abd al-Birr as well as by others. It is supported by what he (`Omer) had said at the time of his death: `How I wish I left the house of Fatima alone and did not expose it (to invasion of privacy).’[1]

JANABE ZAHRA (SA) DEFENDED THE IMAMAT AND WILAYAT OF HAZRAT ALI (AS)

" ON THE OCCASION OF THE WILADAT OH AMEERUL MO'MENEEN HAZRAT ALI IBN ABI TALIB (AS) 13TH RAJAB 1432 AH. "

Janabe’ Zahra (s.a.) said, “Abul Hasan (a.s.) has done what was necessary for him to do; and for what the people have done, Allah will take their account for it.”

Janabe’ Salman reports that during the night, Hazrat Ali (a.s.), accompanied by Janabe’ Zahra (s.a.) and his sons, Imam Hasan (a.s.) and Imam Hussain (a.s.) visited the houses of the companions of the Holy Prophet. He asked them by the right of Allah (s.w.t.) to help and support him. But besides us four, nobody even gave him a reply. We shaved our heads and prepared ourselves for his help. When Hazrat Ali (a.s.) saw that people were not ready to support him and that instead, all of them were in support of Abu Bakr, he confined himself to his house.[1]
Ibne Qutayba narrates the incident as follows – Hazrat Ali (a.s.) along with the daughter of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.), Janabe’ Zahra (s.a.) visited the house of the Ansar in the night and sought their support. The people said, O the daughter of the Prophet (s.a.w.), we have already sworn allegiance to this man. If you and your husband had come earlier, we would never have refused you. At this Hazrat Ali (a.s.) replied, “Should I have left the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) without ghusl and burial, and come out to seek power?” Janabe’ Zahra (s.a.) said, “Abul Hasan (a.s.) has done what was necessary for him to do; and for what the people have done, Allah will take their account for it.”[2]

A Quranic Proof on the Inheritance of Janabe Zahra(s.a.)

Prophet Zakariyya(a.s.) prayed for a son in his old age in the following words:

He said: My Lord! surely my bones are weakened and my head flares with hoariness, and, my Lord! I have never been unsuccessful in my prayer to Thee:And surely I fear my cousins after me, and my wife is barren, therefore grant me from Thyself an heir, Who should inherit me and inherit from the children of Yaqoub, and make him, my Lord, one in whom Thou art well pleased. (Surah Maryam (19): Verse4-6)

When the Holy Prophet(s.a.w.a.) passed away and Abu Bakr was made caliph to rule over the Muslim community he dispossessed the Holy Prophet’s daughter Fatimah(s.a.) of the agricultural land or estate known as Fadak which had been gifted to her by the Holy Prophet(s.a.w.a.)  during his life time and given in her possession. When Janabe Fatimah(s.a.) asked Abu Bakr to restore her estate as it had been gifted to her by the Holy Prophet along with possession, he demanded evidence and refused to accept the evidence of witnesses produced by Janabe Fatimah(s.a.). Then she claimed the estate as the sole heir to her father, the Holy Prophet. This request was rejected by Abu Bakr saying that he had heard the Holy Prophet(s.a.w.a.)  say that “We the messengers of Allah neither inherit nor leave inheritance.
