IMAM HUSSAIN (AS) AND JANABE FATEMA ZAHRA (SA)

Imam Mohammad Baqir (a.s.) or Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s.) informed Zoraarah,

‘O Zoraarah! It is necessary for every Shia on this earth to seek the pleasure and good wishes of Janabe Zahra (s.a.) through the Ziyarat of Imam Husain (a.s.).’
(Behaar al-Anwaar, vol. 101 pg. 75)

Peace be upon you O’ Aba ‘Abdillah and upon the souls which were annihilated with you.  Upon you, from me, is the peace of Allah for eternity, as long as the night and the day remain and please do not make this (Ziyarat) as my last contact with you.  Greetings be upon Husayn, and upon ‘Ali the son of Husayn and upon the children of Husayn and upon the companions of Husayn.

Report of Hasan bin Farhan Maliki (modern scholar) about the attack on the house of revelation and martyrdom of Lady Zahra (sa)

Dr. Hasan bin Farhan Maliki, teacher and researcher of education, training, development and practice, has written in this regard:
Supporters of Ali (a), during allegiance to Umar were less than those who supported him (Ali) during allegiance of Abu Bakr; as in the beginning of Abu Bakr’s Caliphate they had besieged the house of Fatima as some companions were against paying allegiance to Abu Bakr. This claim is proved through correct authorities.[1]

Then he writes in its margin:
In the beginning I was of the view that the story of attack was false and incorrect, but after referring and research I found confirmed referential authorities of the same and one of those references is the statement of Ibne Abi Shaybah in Al-Musannaf; after that this tragic incident is proved through correct references.[2]

Report of Abdul Fatah Abdul Maqsood (modern scholar) about the attack on the house of revelation and martyrdom of Lady Zahra (sa

Abdul Fatah Abdul Maqsood (born 1912 A.D. in Alexandria, Egypt) was an intellectual of the Sunni faith and a prominent Egyptian writer who has composed eloquent and expressive Arabic verses in excess and is the author of a large number of books like, Abna Ana Maa ar Rasul, Yaum Kiyum Uthman, Saleebiya Ilal Abad, Az-Zahra Umme Abiha, Al Imam Ali Ibne Abi Talib, As-Saqifah wal Khilafah and so on…

His greatest and most important book is Al-Imam Ali Ibne Abi Talib in nine volumes, which he wrote in a period of thirty years, which by insight and close examination has opened new doors of research in the analytic history of Islam and has removed many doubts.

This well informed and well known Egyptian intellectual has mentioned the incident of attack on the house of revelation in two places in his book:
Umar said: By God in whose hands is the life of Umar, if you do not come out of the house I would burn it down along with its occupants. Some religious persons and who respected the sanctity of the Holy Prophet (s) and his descendants, said: O Aba Hafas, Fatima is present in this house, but he replied without concern: Let her be! Umar came forward and knocked at the door, then he hit it with his fists and kicked it till he entered it forcibly…scream of lady Zahra arose from the house…that wail was a resonation for call of help, which the daughter of the Prophet called out and she said: Father, O the Messenger of Allah (s)…Fatima, through her wails, wanted to inform her father who had passed away about the oppression of one of his companions. Perhaps the disobedience of the stretched neck of carelessness of these companions would be exposed, that its forcibility would be gone, and the severity of the act and tough stance would be destroyed. She hoped that a lightning would engulf him immediately. When the people returned and Umar wanted to flee from the scream of Lady Zahra (s) like a desert deer, Ali (a) due to the severity of emotions clasped the handle of the sword as if his anger was swallowed by it.[1]

Infallibility of Hazrat Fatima (s.a.) guaranteed by Allah the Almighty, challenged by the pseudo-Caliphs

Among the biggest and possibly the most unforgivable blunders of the usurpers of Caliphate was to
cast aspersions on the infallibility (ismat) of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (s.a.), the daughter of our Great Prophet (s.a.w.a.). They managed to do this by summarily rejecting her right to the property of Fadak, first as a gift and next even as inheritance. No consideration was given to her status and her relationship with the Noble Prophet (s.a.w.a.). Worst, no thought was given to her position in the eyes of Allah the Almighty and as espoused by the Majestic Quran. In doing this, the pseudo-caliphs only succeeded in bringing about their own destruction in this world and the Hereafter.
In a confrontation with the pseudo-caliphs, Ameerul Momineen Ali Ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) goes on to show how their folly in rejecting the demands of Hazrat Fatima (s.a.) with respect to Fadak, had taken all of them outside the pale of Islam. They showed themselves unfit even to pass basic judgments related to Islamic jurisprudence. This calls into question how they came to occupy the divine seat of caliphate. Indeed Hazrat Fatima Zahra (s.a.) has exposed the pseudo-caliphs who only got to caliphate with help from others like them who bore intense animosity and hatred against the Holy Prophet’s progeny (a.s.) combined with an overwhelming greed for the world.

Ameerul Momineen Ali Ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) confronts the caliphs

In a lengthy tradition Imam Sadiq (a.s.) narrates: …..the next day, surrounded by the Muhaajireen (immigrants) and the Ansaar (helpers), Ameerul Momineen Ali (a.s.) approached Abu Bakr in the Mosque of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.).
He (a.s.) demanded – Why did you forbid Fatima (s.a.) from claiming the inheritance she received from her father, the Prophet of Allah (s.a.w.a.), which he (s.a.w.a.) had handed over to Fatima (s.a.) during his (s.a.w.a.) lifetime?
Abu Bakr:  Fadak is from the spoils of war and is associated with all Muslims. Thus, if Fatima brings witnesses that the Prophet of Allah had given it to her as her (own personal) property, we will give it to her, otherwise she has no claim over it.
Ameerul Momineen (a.s.): O Abu Bakr! You have judged against the orders of Allah regarding us among the Muslims.
Abu Bakr: It is not so.
Ameerul Momineen (a.s.): If a property is in the possession of another Muslim and is under his control and I was to claim that it is my property, from whom will you ask for two witnesses?
Abu Bakr: I will demand two witnesses from you to support your claim (that the property is yours and not the property of the other Muslim).
Then Ameerul Momineen (a.s.) demanded: Then why do you ask for two witnesses from Fatima (s.a.) regarding a property that was already under her possession, and it was very much under her possession during the lifetime of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and even after his death? Why do you not ask the Muslims to produce two witnesses on their claim in the same way that you ask me to produce witnesses when I claim the property under the possession of someone else?

Report of Umar Reza Kahala (modern scholar) about the attack on the house of revelation and martyrdom of Lady Zahra (sa)

Umar Reza Kahala is among the famous Arab contemporary Ahle Sunnat scholars, writers, researchers and biographers (died 1408 A.H.).

He writes in his Elamun Nisa quoting authorities that:

Abu Bakr sent Umar in pursuit of some who had refused to pay allegiance to him – like Abbas, Zubair and Saad bin Ubadah – who had taken refuge in the house of Fatima with Ali Ibne Abi Talib (a); Umar came and told them to come out. They were in the house and they refused to come out. Umar asked for firewood and said: By Allah, in whose hands is my life, if you don’t come out to give allegiance, I will burn it down along with its occupants. He was told: O Aba Hafas (agnomen of Umar), Fatima is present in this house. He replied: Even if Fatima is present there (I will burn it down).[1]

Destruction of Jannatul Baqi - Views of the great jurist Ayatullah Al-Uzma Lutfullah Saafi Gulpaigani

The great and renowned jurist and Marja-e-Taqleed of the Shias, author of various books, defender of Imamat and Wilayat of Ahle Bait (a.s.), the propagator of Imamat and Wilayat with the special grace of Imam-e-Zamana (a.t.f.s.), the author of the renowned book Muntakhab al-Asar fi Imam Saani Ashar, declared Sunday 8th Shavval, as a day of great calamity for the Muslim nation.
He declared – This calamity has occurred not only on the Shias and the Ahle Bait (a.s.) but on the entire Muslim nation and is a loss and detriment which has befallen on Islam through this worst incident and inappropriate action. It is a loss equal to several losses put together.

The holy mausoleum in the history of Islam
Ayatullah Saafi Gulpaigani  has declared the blessed mausoleums and other effects related to Imams (a.s.) as the complete history of Islam.
He stated – Wahhabis have destroyed the history of Islam and worse than that is in these eighty years they did not stop at only this act but destroyed and desolated everything which bore a trace the Prophet’s Ahle Bait (a.s.). These were memorials of Islam, blessings of Islam and the history of Islam does not have any apparent signs without them.

This great jurist of the Shias has pointed towards the fact that all nations and religions have protected and renovated their historical signs and effects. This act persuades the Muslims to protect and safeguard the corporal history of Islam. Hence he said – Just as these symbols are protected in the entire world, the signs of Islam should also be protected so that whoever is blessed with the visitation of Mecca and Madinah, witnesses Islam closely even centuries after its advent.

Ayatullah Saafi Gulpaigani  blames the enemies of Islam and selfish nature of the Salafis for this incident and elaborates – The real intention of the enemies of Islam and the Salafis is to destroy Islam and since they found this act as a debasement and an ignominy for themselves, they persuaded a group to commit this crime.

A ‘Day of Grief’ for Muslims

Ayatullah Saafi Gulpaigani  addressed the Muslims, particularly the Shias and said – The Shias and Muslims should be aggrieved and sorrowful on this day (8th Shavval) and should curse and condemn these criminals.

Certainly the Proof of Allah – Imam-e-Zamana (a.t.f.s.) is also mournful and grief-stricken when he witnesses the desolate state of Baqi, particularly the state of his forefathers’ (a.s.) graves.
Let us participate in the grief of the Ahle Bait (a.s.) and express our sense of disgust at the actions of the Wahhabis and pray for the earliest reappearance of Imam-e-Zamana (a.t.f.s.).
O Allah! Hasten the reappearance of Imam-e-Zamana (a.t.f.s.)

In the same year (1925), he also demolished the tombs of holy personages at Jannat al-Mualla (Makkah) where the Holy Prophet (s)'s mother, wife, grandfather and other ancestors are buried.

Destruction of sacred sites in Hijaz by the Saudi Wahhabis continues even today. According to some scholars what is happening in Hijaz is actually a conspiracy plotted by the Jews against Islam, under the guise of Tawheed. The idea is to eradicate the Islamic legacy and heritage and to systematically remove all its vestiges so that in the days to come, Muslims will have no affiliation with their religious history

Report of Panegyric (Qasida) of Muhammad Hafiz Ibrahim (1287 – 1351 A.H.) about the attack on the house of revelation and martyrdom of Lady Zahra (sa)

Hafez Ibrahim (Arabicحافظ إبراهيم, Ḥafeẓ Ibrāheem‎) (1871-1932) was known as the Poet of the Nile, and sometimes the Poet of the People, as his writings were widely revered by ordinary Egyptians. His poetry was often about subjects with which the majority of Egyptians were familiar, such as poverty and the politics of foreign occupation. He was one of several Egyptian poets that revived Arabic poetry during the latter half of the 19th century. While still using the classical Arabic system of meter and rhyme, these poets wrote to express new ideas and feelings unknown to the classical poets. Hafez is noted for writing poems on political and social commentary. ( Ref : wikipedia)

Muhammad Hafiz Ibrahim, , has a Diwan[1] to his credit, which is published in ten volumes. In his Qasida, famous as ‘Qasida Umariya’ he has considered it to be a matter of pride for Umar to come to Ali’s house and say: If you don’t come out and give allegiance to Abu Bakr, I will burn down the house even if the daughter of the Prophet is inside it.

It is noteworthy that he recited this Qasida on important occasions and the audience not only did not find fault in him, on the contrary, they encouraged him and gifted him medals of pride.

In this Qasida, he says:
And the words spoken by Umar to Ali (a) were: Strange was the respected hearer and what an important speaker?! Umar said to Ali (a): If you don’t give allegiance your house will be burnt down and I will not leave anyone alive in it; even if the daughter of the Prophet is there in it. Except for Abu Hafas (Umar) no one could dare to make this statement before the stalwart of Adnan and his defender.[2]

Report of Shamsuddin Dhahabi (748 A.H.) and Ibne Hajar Asqalani (852 A.H.) about the attack on the house of revelation and martyrdom of Lady Zahra (sa)

Ibne Hajar Asqalani in Lisanul Mizan and Dhahabi in Mizanul Etedal have written that:

Umar hit on the belly of Fatima and caused the miscarriage of Mohsin.[1]

But Ibne Hajar has rejected this report, because of the presence of Ibne Abi Daram in its chain of narrators on the pretext that he is Rafidi (Shia); whereas Dhahabi instead in his book of Seer Aalamun Nubla has called him Imam, Hafiz and learned…[2]

And in another place, he said regarding him:
Among his qualities was that he was a memorizer of traditional reports and was cognizant of traditions and the only defect he had was that he had Shii beliefs.[3]

And in another place he says:
Muhammad bin Hammad Hafiz has said regarding him: He was a person having correct beliefs throughout his life.[4]

In the same way, Dhahabi has mentioned in Mizanul Etedal:
He, throughout his life had correct and firm beliefs.[5]

Later on Dhahabi condemns him for being a Rafidi (Shia) and for narrating this report and some other reports in condemnation of Caliphs and called him names, like: old man, deviated and licentious person[6], but can being a Shia lead to loss of integrity in a person to narrate a tradition? What logic and reasoning permits us to leave aside the reports of a person and to declare them as invalid only because of the fact that he is a Shia?

If Shiaism is a criterion for acceptance or rejection of traditions, Ahle Sunnat should draw a line of invalidity on a large number of traditional reports in their six canonical books (Sihah Sitta), because the authors of Sihah Sitta have often narrated traditions from Shia (Rafidi according to them). Some of their names are mentioned in the footnote.[7]

How is it possible to believe that a person earned the titles of Imam, Hafiz and learned; and all his life he remains steadfast on faith, has strong memory and cognition of religious concepts, and his reports are of the rank that all scholars have consensus on them, but at the same time he is also called deviated and sinner? Can terms and qualities like Imam, Hafiz, learned and cognitive be mentioned together with words like: old man, deviated and licentious person?

Yes, it is because of bigotry beyond limits, an illogical defense of the school of Caliphs and effort to defend their honor that a great personality like Dhahabi is compelled to make these hypocritical statements in his book.

It is possible that they might reply that only being a Rafidi (Shia) is not the reason for the reporter to be condemned, on the contrary, it is being an extremist in being a Rafidi.[8]

Report of Abu Walid Muhammad bin Shahna Hanafi (817 A.H.) about the attack on the house of revelation and martyrdom of Lady Zahra (sa)

Abu Walid Muhammad bin Shahna has narrated as follows:
Umar came to the house of Ali (a) to burn him with those who were in his company. Fatima (s) confronted Umar. Umar said to Fatima: Enter that into which the Ummah has entered (allegiance of Abu Bakr)…[1]

Report of Abul Fida (732 A.H.) about the attack on the house of revelation and martyrdom of Lady Zahra (sa)

Abu al-Fida (Arabicأبو الفداء‎; or Abul-Fida' al-Ḥamawi or Abul Fida Ismail Hamvi, fully Abu Al-fida' Isma'il Ibn 'ali ibn Mahmud Al-malik Al-mu'ayyad 'imad Ad-din; also transliterated AbulfedaAbu Alfida, etc.; November 1273 – October 27, 1331), was a Kurdish[1]historiangeographer, and local governor of Hamāh.[2][3] He was a prince of the Ayyubid dynasty and the author of The memoirs of a Syrian prince: Abu'l-Fidāʼ, Sultan of Ḥamāh. The crater Abulfeda on the Moon, is named after him.

Abul Fida has written in his Tarikh:
Abu Bakr sent Umar to Ali and his companions to bring them out from the house of Fatima and he (Abu Bakr) said: If they resist, confront them. Umar came with some fire to burn the house. Fatima saw him and asked: O son of Khattab, where are you hastening to in this way? Have you come to burn down my house? Umar said: Yes, except if you do that which people have done.

Report of Ibne Taymiyyah, founder of Wahabism (728 A.H.) about the attack on the house of revelation and martyrdom of Lady Zahra (sa)

Ibne Taymiyyah Harrani, leader of Wahabism, has hinted about the incident of attack on the house of revelation and he says in Minhajus Sunnah:
Umar bin Khattab surrounded the house of Fatima to see if anything from the Public Treasury was kept there; that he may distribute it among deserving people.[1]
The fact is that the incident of attack of house of Lady Fatima (s) in the view of Ibne Taymiyyah was a proven thing and which cannot be denied, even though he tried to justify it and give it an unacceptable form, which is not concealed from any sane person, but even he cannot deny its factuality.

WILADAT OF HAZRAT FAEMAH ZAHRA (SA) MUBARAK TO ALL

The Incomparable Virtues of Fatemah Zahra (s.a.) in the Sunnah

Hazrat Faatemah (a.s.) is called Faatemah because nobody can fathom her position. The only way to get some insight into her august position is from the sayings of the holy infallibles (a.s.).
The following are some of the quotations from Sunni books listing her virtues and underscoring her status:

1) Cause of creation of the universe

Numerous Sunni narrators like Shaikh al-Islam al-Hamuee (exp 732 A.H.) has documented in his book Faraaed al-Simtain book 1, pg 36, from Ibne Abbas, who quotes from Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.):
When Allah created Hazrat Adam (a.s.) and angels prostrated before him, Hazrat Adam (a.s.) asked Allah whether He had created anyone, dearer than him (Adam).
Allah replied: Yes. If they were not there, I would not have created you.
Then Hazrat Adam (a.s.) expressed his desire to see them. At the time, Allah ordered the Angels to set aside the curtain. Then Hazrat Adam (a.s.) saw five shadows in front of Allah’s Throne. He asked: O Allah! Who are they?
Allah informed: This is Muhammad (s.a.w.a.), this is his cousin and brother and successor, Ameerul Momeneen Ali (a.s.), and this is Faatemah (s.a.) the beloved daughter of My Messenger, and these are the sons of Ali and the Prophet, Hasan and Husain. Listen O Adam, they are among your sons.
Khwarazmi has quoted in his Manaaqib, that Abu Hurairah, has invited attention to this sentence – If they would not have been there you would not have been created. After this, Allah informed Adam that if they had not have been there, even Arsh and Kursi, skies and earth, angels, jinn and humans would not have been created. And for this reason Hazrat Faatemah Zahra (s.a.) is the cause of creation.

2) Love of Faatemah is condition of prophethood

Allah, the Almighty, presented the Wilaayat (mastership) of Ali (a.s.), Faatemah (a.s.) and their infallible progeny (a.s.) to the creation. Those who took precedence in accepting them were appointed prophets, after them came the Shias. Allah will gather all of them in Paradise. Many traditions on these lines are available in books like Basaaer al-Darajaat.

3) Leader of the women of this world and the hereafter

Ibne Maghaazali Shaafe’ee, in his book Manaaqib, pg 399, has documented a tradition from the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.): By the Almighty, who made me a Prophet, that you O’ (Faatemah (a.s.)) are the leader of all women in both worlds i.e. in this world, and the hereafter.
Many more traditions of this nature have been mentioned by Sunni scholars like Allamah Shahaabuddin Aalusi in Tafseer al-Maani, book 3, pg 155, Shaafe’ee in Seerah al-Halabi book 2, pg 6, as also by Suyuti, Muqrezi, Mannaawi, Ibn Abil Hadeed Motazali, Ahmed Zaini Vehlaan, Shaafe’ee Mufti Misri.

4) Affection and regard for Faatemah (s.a.) will serve at 100 stations

Shaikh al-Islam al-Hamuee in his invaluable book Faraaed al-Simtain, book 2, pg 67 has documented a tradition from the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) that he (s.a.w.a.) informed Salmaan:
He who befriends Faatemah (a.s.) will be with me in Paradise and he who bears enmity with Faatemah will be in Hell. O Salmaan! Affection for Faatemah will rescue a person in 100 stations of which the least terrifying are death, grave, scale of deeds, resurrection, Seraat and accounting of deeds. He with whom my daughter is pleased, will benefit from my pleasure, and he with whom, I am pleased will benefit from Allah’s Pleasure. And he with whom Faatemah is angry, will incur my wrath and he with whom I am angry will be a target of Allah’s Wrath. Most deplorable is the one who tyrannizes Faatemah (s.a.) or her husband Ameerul Momineen (a.s.) or her sons or their Shias.
