ATTACK ON THE HOUSE OF JANABE ZAHRA (SA). - VIEWS OF SHIA SCHOLARS

Introduction

The Shi’a scholars have all spoken on this incident, and the Ijma’ of Shi’a on a matter reveals that it is from the Ahlul Bayt, just as in the case of reciting BIsmallah loudly or Hayy ‘Ala Khayr al ‘Amal in the call to prayer. Even if one doesn’t grant that the ijma of the Shia scholars is enough to prove that Ahlul Bayt (AS) believed in Fatimiyya, what this ijma would at the very least prove is that the belief in Fatimiyya is early

The words of Imami Scholars themselves:

1. al-Sayyid al-Himyari (d.173H)

al-Sayyid al-Himyari has a poem in which he states:

"She was beaten and her right was usurped. And then they let her taste the pain of injuries and wounds.

May that hand be cut who hit her And the hand of those who are content with that and follow him.

May Allah not forgive him and or make him safe of the fear of the Day of Resurrection"

Siraat Al Mustaqeem V3 Page 13

2. al-Barqi (d.245 H)

al-Barqi within the same page is narrated to say

"They collected firewood to burn the house And lit it

even though there were children in it

And in the house there was not except the purified ones

Of women and the truthful one and the grandsons (of the Prophet (saw))

I do not say that they did treachery, they rather disbelieved And disbelief is

less than burning the children (of the Prophet (saw))

And whatever of their tyranny and wrongdoing they did Will be two chains around their necks in Hellfire"

Siraat Al Mustaqeem V3 Page 13

3. Muhammad b. Abi Zaynab al-Nu’mani (d.360H)

“They did wrong to Fatima, the infallible Prophet’s daughter, to a degree that she (as) recommended in her will to be buried secretly at night and that none of her father’s umma was to offer the prayer (prayer for the dead) for her except those few ones she had mentioned. If there was no calamity in the history of Islam bringing shame and disgrace other than the calamity of Fatima (as) until she left to the better world angry with her father’s umma leaving her bitter will that no one was to attend her burial except very few loyal companions, it would be sufficient evidence for the ignorant and for those, whose hearts were sealed, to see what a great sin they had committed when they wronged Fatima, her husband and her sons (peace be upon them) and when they preferred the oppressors to the Prophet’s family, who were the elite of Allah”

Al Ghaybatal Nu'mani

4. Sheikh al-Saduq (d.381H)

Sheikh al-Saduq narrates: “We were told by Abu Abdillah, Hussain bin Ahmad bin Muhammed bin Ahmad al-Ishnani al-Darimi, the Jurist, the Just, in Balkh, that he said: I was told by my father, that he said: We were told by Muhammed bin Ammar, that he said: We were told by Musa bin Isma’il, that he said: We were told by Hammad bin Salama, from Muhammed bin Ishaq, from Muhammed bin Ibrahim al-Taimi, from Salama, from Abu’l-Tufail, from Ali bin Abi Talib, peace be upon him, that the Messenger of Allah, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, said: O Ali, indeed, for you is a treasure in Paradise, and you are its Man with Two Horns. Do not follow one look by another look in prayer, for indeed, the first is (permitted) for you, whereas the other is not (permitted) for you.”

Sheikh al-Saduq then comments the following:”Moreover, I have heard some teachers mention that this treasure is his son, Mohsin, peace be upon him, and he was the miscarried fetus who was dropped by Fatima, peace be upon her, when she was squeezed between the two doors.”

Maanil al akhbaar

5. Ibn al-Junayd al-Iskafi (4th century Hijri)

Of the compiled works of Abu ʿAlī, Muḥammad b. Aḥmad al-Iskāfī- famously known as Ibn al-Junayd (d. 4th Century) is a book that is entitled “al-Ẓulāmah li-Fāṭima ʿalayhā al-salām” (The Oppression towards Fāṭima, upon her be peace.)

Translation by The Purified Truth/Originally from Ahmed al-Toufaili. Mu'jam al Rijal.

6. Sheikh al-Mufid (d.413H)

“Among the Shī ̔a, there are those who mention that Fāṭima, the blessing of Allāh be on her, after the Prophet had a miscarriage with a son, whom the Prophet, may Allāh bless Him and His Family, had (already) named during her pregnancy as Muḥsin. According to this group there were twenty-eight children of the Commander of the Faithful, the blessing and peace of Allāh be on him. Allāh knows and judges best.”

Kitab Al Irshad Vol 1 Page 355 & Refer to al-Qadhi Abul Jabbar statement on al-Mufid and other Shi’a scholars doing ‘Aza on Fatima AS and claiming Umar led to Fatima’s AS miscarriage

7. Al-Sharif al-Murtadha (d.436H)

“And this narration where Sayyida Fatima AS says: “O’ ibn al-Khattab would you burn my door on me? And he says yes” is a narration that the Shi’a have transmitted with many chains”

Al Shafi

8. Abu al-Salah al-Halabi (d.447H)

"And among the issues that slanders the righteousness of the first three (usurpers) i.e Aboo Bakr, Umar and Uthman, are: Their aim over the house of Ahlulbayt (a.s) of their Prophet (saw) by disrespecting and persecution and hurting their status and refraining from respecting it as it is expected. Among the slanders is also them leaving all those who did not pay allegiance, but they intended to persecute Alee (a.s) due to him abstaining from giving allegiance, by speaking evil to him and exaggeration in threatening him, and bringing of firewood to burn his house, and attacking him with their men without his permission (to enter his house) and dragging him by holding his garment and terrifying his wife and his daughters and his women and his supporters of Bani Hashim and others, forcing them out of their houses and holding swords upon them and threatening him to killing if he does not pay allegiance. But they didn't do things like this with Sa'd ibn Ubada and Khabbab ibn Al-Munzir and others who refrained and delayed their allegiance, until they died or after a long time they paid allegiance.”

Taqrib al Ma'arif

9. Muhamamd b. Ali al-Karajiki (d.449H)

“And he (Umar) claimed that the best creation of Allah (swt) was delusional in his words, and he (Umar) struck Fatima (as) the daughter of the Prophet (sawa), and brought wood to burn her house with those who are in it

Al Ta'ajub min 'aghlaat Al 'Amma fi Mas'alat Al Imama

10. Sheikh al-Tusi (d.460H)

“And what he was criticised for is their beating Fatima (sa) who is reported as having been beaten with whips. What is famous and what is the consensus among the Shi’as is that ‘’Umar (ibn al-Khattab) hit her on her stomach till she miscarried, and the child whom she miscarried was named Muhsin. Such a narrative is quite famous among them. Add to this their desire to set her house on fire when people sought refuge with her and refused to swear the oath of allegiance to him (to Abu Bakr). Nobody denies this narrative because we have explained the narrative as reported by the Sunnis through al-Balathiri and others. Shi’as provide more details, and they do not differ in this regard” (Translation from al-Islam)

BOOK - Tragedy of al-Zahra’: Doubts and Responses

CLICK BELOW TO READ AND EXCELLENT BOOK BY
                                    Sayyed

This single issue, the tragedy of al-Zahra’ (sa), demands an explanation and a clarification in order to remove whatever doubts that may entertain some people’s minds, procedural or scientific inquiries, as some people label them, which they have frequently encountered during scores of radio interviews, in the printed press, or in many meetings, correspondence or debates during a lengthy period of time. Many various “evidences” were provided to deny that any violence took place against al-Zahra’ (sa) at her home, or against Ali (as) at the home of al-Zahra’ (sa). Such “evidences” and “proofs” were granted “modern ideological labels” such as “provocations,” “question marks,” or “researched doubts,” up to the end of such expressions which have all become well known.

The House of Fatema Zahra (sa) .... The Hijaab of Allah (swt)

Kitab al-Wassiyah

From" Kitab al-Turf" of Sayed ibn Taoos quoting from Kitab al-Wassiyah of Shaikh Isa bin al-Mustafaad al-Zareer

Imam Musa bin Jafar al-Kazim (as) from his Father (as):

لما حضرت رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) الوفاة دعا الانصار وقال … ألا إن فاطمة بابها بابي وبيتها بيتي، فمن هتكه فقد هتك حجاب الله "، قال عيسى: فبكى أبو الحسن (عليه السلام) طويلا، وقطع بقية كلامه  وقال:
هتك والله حجاب الله، هتك والله حجاب الله، هتك والله حجاب الله يا امه صلوات الله عليها

"When Prophet Mohammad (saww) was about to die, He called the Ansaar's and said, ... "Indeed the door of Fatema (sa) is My door, and Her house is My house. So whoever disgraces it has disgraced the Hijaab (veil/covering) of Allah" (swt).

The narrator Isa then says, "Abu al-Hasan Imam Kazim (as) then cried for long and cut of

rest of his speech and said,

"By Allah (swt) the Hijaab of Allah (swt) was disgraced,

By Allah (swt) the Hijaab of Allah (swt) was disgraced,

By Allah (swt) the Hijaab of Allah (swt) was disgraced,

O My Mother (sa)..."

How Allah will deal with the murderers of Mohsin Ibn Ali (a.s.)?

Doubt

There are some Muslims who reject Mohsin Ibn Ali’s (a.s.) martyrdom. They maintain that Fatima (s.a.) and Ameerul Momineen (a.s.) did not have a son by that name. They reject all references in history of Mohsin Ibn Ali (a.s.) and shamelessly, even deny the attack on Fatima Zahra’s (s.a.) house.

Reply

It is surprising how any just and honest student of Islamic history can deny the existence of Mohsin Ibn Ali (a.s.) – the third son of Fatima (s.a.) and Ameerul Momineen (a.s.). History is most vocal on not just his existence but the brutal manner in which he was martyred by the companions, the usurpers of caliphate. Traditions even go as far as to detail the manner in which the killers will be punished on the Day of Judgment.
  1. Mohsin Ibn Ali’s (a.s.) martyrdom
While books of history are replete with references of his (a.s.) martyrdom, we have sufficed with the following from the Ahle Tasannun (Sunni) sources:
  1. Abu Abdillah Shams al-Deen al-Zahabi records in Mizaan al-Etedaal vol. 1 p. 139 – Undoubtedly Umar kicked Fatimah (s.a.) so much so that it lead to Mohsin’s miscarriage.
  2. Muhammad al-Shahrastaani records in Al-Milal wa al-Nehal vol. 1 p. 57 (Beirut Edition) – Umar struck Fatimah violently in the abdomen (on the Day of Allegiance) so much so that she fell on her abdomen (resulting in the infant’s death).
  • Abdul Qadir al-Tamimi al-Baghdadi in Al-Farq bain al-Feraq p. 107 records on the same lines as above.
  1. Allamah Khalil Ibn Aybak al-Safdi in Al-Waafi be al-Wafayaat vol. 6 p. 17 records – The Motazelah sect is of the view that on the Day of Allegiance, Umar undoubtedly struck Fatima (a.s.) so much so that Mohsin (a.s.) was killed.
  1. Sadr al-Deen Ibraheem Ibn Sa’d al-Deen Muhmmad al-Hammuee in Al-Faraaed al-Simtain vol. 2 p. 35
  1. How Allah – the Mighty – will deal with his murderers?

Hazrat Mohsin Ibn Ali (a.s.): A Victim of Oppression and Terrorism

Introduction

The demise of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) triggered a chain of events that caught the Muslims unawares. They accepted these events as if that was the most natural thing to do and remained unmindful of the far-reaching consequences of their submission.
One such incident that stands out in the aftermath of the Holy Prophet’s (s.a.w.a.) demise is the siege on Fatimah’s (s.a.) house and the eventual attack that claimed two lives in its wake, one of them being Fatimah (s.a.) herself. The other one being the martyrdom of Mohsin b. Ali (a.s.), which is the subject of this article.

Unbelievably true

Mohsin b. Ali’s (a.s.) martyrdom is so unsettling and even incredible that it has been denied by many Muslims.
When one comes to think of it, indeed the incident is unbelievably true. Not just the martyrdom of Mohsin b. Ali (a.s.), the entire chain of incidents, the oppressors and oppressed ones, everything about the attack on Fatimah’s (s.a.) house is unbelievable.
It is unbelievable that a hair on Fatimah’s (s.a.) would be harmed let alone being inflicted with a fatal body blow. Especially when the Muslims were served a crystal clear warning by the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) in this regard when he informed them that Fatimah’s displeasure was the cause of his displeasure and his displeasure was the cause of Allah’s displeasure and incurring Allah’s displeasure would drive one to Hell.
It is unbelievable that Ali b. Abi Talib (a.s.) who was anointed Ameerul Momineen (a.s.) publicly by the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) on divine command less than three months before his (s.a.w.a.) demise in Ghadeer-e-Khumm and was the unanimous choice of Allah and His Messenger (s.a.w.a.) as highlighted by every notable incident in Islam’s history should be subjugated by individuals who could not even compare to the dust of his horse’s hooves which incidentally Allah swears by in Surah Aadiyaat.
It is unbelievable that the perpetrators of this crime were none other than the so-called companions of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and his so-called successors who claimed proximity and brotherhood with the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and after whose names the Muslims invoke Allah’s satisfaction and mercy.
It is unbelievable that the atrocities meted out to Fatimah (s.a.) would eventually claim her life inducing Ali (a.s.) to declare that she was like a flower nipped in the bud and confessing to the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) his helplessness in safeguarding the Prophet’s (s.a.w.a.) trust. All this within a few days of the Prophet’s (s.a.w.a.) demise and revelation of the Verse of Purification (Surah Ahzaab (33): 33) and Incident of the Cloak testified to by all the Muslims as being related to Fatimah (s.a.) along with her husband and sons.
It is unbelievable that Fatimah (s.a.) willed her burial to be carried out in the dead of the night deeming the companions in question unfit to attend her funeral and in this way categorically refuting their claim to caliphate and so-called proximity to her father (s.a.w.a.) and inflicting a slap so hard on her oppressors that its reverberations will always be felt by her oppressors and their partisans.
Finally it is unbelievable that the struggle launched by a few individuals for worldly power and status would mercilessly uproot the existence of a six-month unborn infant from the comfort of his mother’s womb.
Over here, the martyrdom of Mohsin b. Ali (a.s.), the third son of Ali b. Abi Talib (a.s.) and Fatimah (s.a.) after Hasan (a.s.) and Husain (a.s.), has been analyzed in detail. Other events before and after the martyrdom, although very significant from the viewpoint of Ali b. Abi Talib (a.s.) and Fatimah (s.a.) in particular and Muslims in general, are referred to in lesser detail.
Despite claims to the contrary by misinformed and uninformed Muslims, it is well-documented by scores of scholars from both the sects – Ahle Sunnah and Shias, that there was a full-scale attack on Fatimah’s (s.a.) house only a few days after the Prophet’s (s.a.w.a.) demise. The objective of the companions who assaulted Fatimah (s.a.) and Ali b. Abi Talib (a.s.) was to extract Ali’s (a.s.) allegiance for Abu Bakr, without which they knew Abu Bakr’s caliphate would lack any form of legitimacy.

'May the eye not be cool that does not cry over Mohsin b. Ali'

Mufazzal b. Umar (r.a.) in a lengthy tradition from Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s.) relates -

On the Day of Resurrection, Khadijah b. Khuwailid and Fatima b. Asad, the mother of Ameerul Momineen (a.s.) will come forth carrying Muhassin (Mohsin). They will be shrieking while his (Mohsin’s) mother – Fatima (s.a.), will be reciting the verse, “This is your Day, which you were promised.”- Ambiya (21): 103 (and the verse) (Remember) The Day (of Judgement) when every soul shall find present whatever it has wrought of good; and whatever it has wrought of evil, it will wish that the distance between it and himself was wide.” Ale Imran (2): 30).

He (Mufazzal) said: At this Imam Sadiq (a.s.) wept till his beard was soaked with his tears.

Then he (a.s.) said: May the eye not be cool that does not cry over this remembrance (of Mohsin).

And Mufazzal wept for long.

Then he (Mufazzal) said: O my master how many tears O my master? Then he (a.s.) said: They cannot be numbered for the one worthy of them.

Then Mufazzal said: O my master what do you say about the verse – “And when the female infant buried alive is asked, for what sin she was killed.” (Takweer (81):8-9).

He (a.s.) said: O Mufazzal the female infant buried alive is Mohsin, by Allah, because he is from us and he is none other, if someone claims he is someone else then he has denied him.

Mufazzal said: O my master then what?

Imam Sadiq (a.s.): Fatima (s.a.), daughter of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) will rise and she will say: O Allah fulfill Your Promise and Undertaking concerning me regarding the one who oppressed me, usurped from me, struck me, made me restless regarding all my children.

Then all angels of the seven heavens and carriers of the Arsh, residents of the atmosphere and all in the world and under the layers of the soil will weep for her with their wailing and shrieking addressed to Allah, the High. Then none will survive from our killers and oppressors and those who were satisfied with what transpired with us except that he will be killed on that day a thousand killings.

Allamah Majlisi (r.a.) in the footnote of the aforementioned tradition: The author estimates that the thousand killings will be more severe than the Fire of Jaheem, we seek refuge in Allah from it. Allah, the High, says: And (as for) those who disbelieve, for them is the fire of hell; it shall not be finished with them entirely (Faatir (35): 36 and it is said they will say - And they shall call out: O Malik! let your Lord make an end of us. (Zukhruf (43): 77). And from what has been narrated there is no way out after Hashr from death. Then it is surprising that these oppressors have been singled out (with a thousand deaths for oppressing those) who were killed in Allah’s Way about whom Allah says – “nay, they are alive” while regarding the oppressors Allah, the High says – “surely the unjust will not be successful”.

OBJECTIONS AGAINST HAZRAT FATEMAH ZAHRA (SA) AND THEIR REPLIES - OBJECTION NO 16 PART 2

Objection 16 : Did the Messenger of

Allah (s) possess sonography facility?

CONTINUED FROM PART 1 ...

In the same way, this statement of Abu Shawarib Wahabi can be studied in polemical reply in two parts:

Wahabis have considered this as an excellence of Abu Bakr and have no doubt in it.
Pay attention to the following text mentioned in sources approved by Wahabis:
Malik has narrated in Muwattah from Ayesha that she said:
Abu Bakr gifted his orchard having twenty date trees to Ayesha and when his end approached, he said to her: My daughter, by God, nothing after my death that you are having is more valuable to me and nothing is harder for me than your poverty. You have received twenty date trees from me that if from them you raise other trees also it would be for you and today all my properties are there for my successors; that is your two brothers and two sisters. You must distribute them according to the Book of Allah. Ayesha said: Father, I don’t have more than one sister and she is Asma. Who is the other sister? Abu Bakr said: Kharija (my slave girl) is pregnant with another daughter whom I can see.[1]
And also in many other sources, the same matter is mentioned. Now, we put the same question to Abu Shawarib Wahabi: Is Abu Bakr having sonography facility that he has given this information?

Secondly, with regard to some companions, they have narrated that they even spoke to angels and gave information of unseen. Were those companions able to give information of unseen, but the Messenger of Allah (s) could not give information about Mohsin and his martyrdom? Why Wahabis scholars don’t have any objection against the conveying of information of unseen by other companions?

A- For example:
The Holy Prophet (s) said: In the past nations, there were persons who gave information of the unseen and if there is such a person in my Ummah, it is Umar. As if revelation comes to him and the Almighty Allah and the angels speak to him and it is narrated that Abu Bakr said: It came to my mind that the child that Asma was supposed to give birth to would be a daughter and if does not happen, the inspiration would be useless.[2]
Like the report mentioned above there are innumerable reports with same subject matter in authentic books of Ahle Sunnat. For example it is mentioned in Sahih Muslim as follows:
Ayesha has narrated from the Holy Prophet (s) that he said:
In the past nations there were persons who gave information of the unseen and if there is such a person in my Ummah, it is Umar.[3]

B- Story of the call of Umar from Medina and it being heard by Muslim fighters in Fasa Shiraz is a well known story, which is mentioned in numerous books accepted by Wahabis and such is the popularity of this incident that it is also mentioned in books of grammar, but we would quote it from the book of Al-Bidaya wan Nihaya of Ibne Kathir Damishqi Wahabi:
Sariya bin Zaneem went on an expedition to Shiraz and launched an attack, but the soldiers of Fars and Kurd arrayed their ranks against him and a large number of them surrounded the Muslims. That night Umar saw their battle and their number in dream and became apprehensive of their consequences; that what they will do in the wilderness the following day. And there was a mountain in that place that if the Muslims take its support they would only have to be cautious from one side. The following day Umar summoned everyone to the Masjid and spoke to the people and informed them of what he had seen; then he called out to them from that same spot: O Sariya bin Zaneem, the mountain, the mountain. Then he turned to the people and said: The Almighty Allah is having soldiers who might perhaps convey this information to them. Muslims present in that battle did what Umar had said and the Almighty Allah also granted victory to them over the enemies and they conquered that city.[4]
There are many other sources approved and accepted by Wahabis, which contain the text of the same incident.[5]

C. Story of River Nile accepting the order of Umar, which Fakhre Raazi has mentioned in his Tafsir:
It is narrated that during the period of ignorance the flow of River Nile in Egypt used to stop every year once and it did not restart till a beautiful female child was not thrown into it. After the advent of Islam, Amr Aas mentioned this matter to Umar and Umar wrote on a slab: O flow of Nile, if you flow by the power of Allah, continue to flow and if you are flowing with your own power, we are not in need of you. After this slab was thrown into the Nile, it restarted and never stopped again.[6]

D- Story of earthquake in Medina and fear of the whip of Umar, which is mentioned by Fakhre Raazi:
An earthquake started in Medina. Umar hit the earth with his whip and said: O earth, take it easy by the permission of Allah, and the earth fell quiet and after that no earthquake ever occurred in Medina.[7]

E- Story of fire accepting the order of Umar:
There was a fire in some houses of Medina. Umar wrote as follows on a slab: O fire, stop by the command of Allah, and threw in into the fire and the fire was extinguished.[8]

There are many other instances also, which are mentioned in Ahle Sunnat sources among merits of companions and none are objected to. So it is necessary to ask Abu Shawarib Wahabi: Why have you not raised objection against any of them?
